UX Design

User Experience (UX) Design is a process that is employed to create products that provide the user with purposeful and pertinent experiences.

There are variations on the process such as Design Thinking or the Double Diamond which is detailed below, but the goal is the same and incorporate a mixture of tools and techniques.

Discover

This phase is about gaining insight into the problem.

  • Includes strategic thinking to determine scope of work.
  • Uses research to understand user needs and pain points.

Define

Next we explore the outcomes of discovery phase.

  • Here we decide what problems we are going to fix.
  • Define the features of the product.
  • Define functional specification.

Develop

In this phase we develop potential solutions to the defined problem.

  • Ideate solutions.
  • Carry out tasks such as sketching, storyboarding etc.
  • Test these ideas.

Deliver

In this phase we refine the final solution iteratively.

  • Prototype, test and analyse.
  • Learn, iterate and repeat.
  • Build, test and finalise.
  • Release.
